Rebel G Society Records is a fully custom, direct-to-fan platform developed by Daryl Boothe, better known as Rebel G Society — the label’s CEO, recording artist and designer.
Why this platform exists
For years, Daryl has been outspoken about how unfairly streaming platforms treat independent artists. Millions of streams can translate into only a few dollars, while the platforms control the audience, the data and the terms. For an independent musician, that model makes it almost impossible to build a sustainable career from the music alone.
Rather than continue to accept those terms, Daryl decided to think outside the box. He used his own resources, skills and creative vision to build a platform where he sells his music and merchandise directly to the people who support him. There is no middleman deciding what the music is worth — when a fan buys an album, a shirt or a poster here, that support goes directly to the artist.
The development process
This site is not built on a template or an off-the-shelf store builder. It is fully custom, designed and developed from the ground up under Daryl’s direction to give the label complete ownership of its music, its brand and its relationship with fans. The platform came together in stages:
The vision
Before a single page was designed, Daryl set one rule: fans should buy directly from the artist, and the artist should keep control of the music, the audience and the revenue. Every decision that followed was measured against that rule.
Design and identity
As the label’s artist and designer, Daryl directed the entire look and feel of the platform. The dark, cinematic interface, the red accents, the animated preloader and the artwork throughout the site were all shaped to match the rebellious, futuristic world of Rebel G Society’s music.
A custom music store
Instead of relying on a template or a third-party storefront, the platform was built from the ground up. Fans can preview every track, buy full albums, EPs and singles in high quality, and keep them forever in The Vault — a private library where purchases can be streamed and downloaded at any time.
Merch and digital goods
Physical merchandise — T-shirts, framed posters and signed CDs — lives alongside digital products such as mobile wallpapers, all in one shopping bag with a single secure checkout. Products are also connected to Facebook and Instagram, so fans can discover them on social media and complete their purchase here.
Secure payments and delivery
Checkout is powered by trusted payment providers, including card payments and PayPal. Digital purchases are delivered instantly, receipts and sign-in links arrive by email, and physical orders are tracked from purchase to shipment.
A label-run back office
Behind the scenes, a custom administration dashboard lets the label manage releases, products, inventory, orders, customers, discount codes and messages, with live, privacy-friendly analytics that show how fans discover and support the music — without selling their data to anyone.
The goal: a home for independent artists
Rebel G Society Records is only the beginning. Selling Daryl’s own music and merch is the first chapter and proof that the model works. The long-term goal has always been bigger: to expand this platform into a social media hub where independent artists can sell their music and merchandise directly to consumers, keep control of their work and earn what it is truly worth.
Over the next couple of years, Daryl plans to grow the platform with features such as:
- Artist profiles where independent musicians can upload and sell their own music directly to fans
- Individual storefronts for each artist’s merch, with sales paid out directly to the creator
- Social features that let fans follow artists, share releases and connect with one another
- Tools that help artists understand their audience and grow their careers on their own terms
